Privacy Policy
LAST UPDATED: November 9, 2009
ARAMARK is committed to protecting any personal information that you may provide to us. In particular, we believe it is important for you to know how we treat information about you that we may receive from this Web site (the “Siteâ€). By providing personal information to us, you agree to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of this privacy policy, please do not provide any personal information to us.
Please be aware that other sites of ARAMARK or its business units might be governed by different privacy practices from those set forth below. We encourage you to check the privacy policy of each of the ARAMARK sites that you visit. This privacy policy does not govern our collection of information through any Web site where this privacy policy is not posted; nor does this privacy policy govern the collection of information by third parties.
Personal Information
In general, you can visit this Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information, which is information that identifies you as an individual. However, there are portions of this Site where you may voluntarily provide personal information, for example, to request information or submit a comment. The information collected from you may include your name, address, telephone, fax number, and/or e-mail address. In the event you provide us with any information requested in the Careers section of this Site, your submission will be governed by our Candidate Data Protection Standard, a copy of which is available by clicking here.
Non-Personal Information
We may also collect non-personal information, which is aggregated information, demographic information, IP addresses and any other information that does not reveal a person’s specific identity through this Site. For example, our web servers collect the domain names of visitors, as well as their MAC addresses, computer types, screen resolutions, OS versions and Internet browsers. Our web servers also seek (as many Web sites do) to place a "cookie" (a small data file) on the hard drive of the computer you are using to visit our Site, which allows the server to determine the computer when it visits again, in order to track statistical information about navigation to and throughout certain areas of our site, and to ARAMARK services on other sites. If you prefer not to accept cookies, you can set your browser to reject them or to alert you before one is placed. For our supplier diversity area, we necessarily collect demographic information about gender and ethnicity, such as whether your business is female-owned. We also aggregate personal information in a manner such that the end-product does not personally identify you or any other user of the Site, for example, by using personal information to calculate the percentage of our users who have a particular telephone area code.
Use of Collected Information
Personal Information
Usually, we use the personal information you provide to respond to your inquiries or to process your requests (such as to receive electronic annual reports or to be added to our supplier diversity database). We may use your personal information to send to you important information regarding the Site, changes to our terms, conditions, and policies and/or other administrative information. Because this information may be important to your use of the Site, you may not opt-out of receiving these communications. We may also use your personal information for our internal business purposes, including for data analysis, audits, developing new products, enhancing our website, improving our services, identifying usage trends and determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns .
If you provide comments to us, the comments along with personal information, for example, your name and photo, may be made available publicly on our Site. We urge you to exercise discretion and caution when providing comments through the Site. We are not responsible for the use of any personal information disclosed through the Site.
We may share the personal information you provide with other companies we have hired to provide services for us. We seek to ensure that these companies - our vendors - are contractually bound to use personal information we share with them only to perform the services we have hired them to provide.
We may transfer any and all information that we collect from Site users to an affiliate or a third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including without limitation in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings).
Notwithstanding any other provision of this privacy policy to the contrary, we reserve the right to disclose your personal information to others if you direct us to do so or as we believe to be appropriate: (a) under applicable law; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to governmental requests; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect the rights, privacy, safety or property of ARAMARK, our affiliates, you or others; and (g) to permit us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.
Non-Personal Information
Because non-personal information does not personally identify you, we may use this information for any purpose. In addition, we reserve the right to share non-personal information, which does not personally identify you, with affiliates and other third parties, for any purpose. For example, domain name information that we collect is aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc. and used to measure the use of our site and to improve the content of our Site.
In some instances, we may combine non-personal information with personal information (for example, combining your name with your geographic location). If we do combine any non-personal information with personal information, the combined information will be treated by us as personal information as long as it is combined.
Links to Other Sites
This Site may contain links to other sites (including the sites of our affiliates). We are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices employed by other sites. We provide links only as a convenience, and the inclusion of a link on this Site does not imply endorsement of the linked site by us or any of our affiliates. If you provide any personal information through any third party website, your transaction will occur on the third party's website (not this Site) and the personal information you provide will be collected by, and controlled by the privacy policy of, that third party. We recommend that you familiarize yourself with the privacy policies and practices of any applicable third parties. Please note that this privacy policy does not address the privacy or information practices of any third parties, including, without limitation, any of our affiliates.
Security of Collected Information
We seek to maintain reasonable physical, electronic, and administrative safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorized or inappropriate access and restrict access to information about you to those ARAMARK workers who need to know the information to respond to your inquiry or request. We also seek to ensure that workers who misuse personal information may be subject to disciplinary action. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or data storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure (for example, if you feel that the security of any account you might have with us has been compromised), please immediately notify us of the problem by contacting us as described below.
Access to Collected Information
You may review and update the information that you provide to us through this Site by contacting us as described below. In each event, please clearly indicate the information that you wish to review or have updated. We will endeavor to comply with your request as soon as reasonably practicable. We may need to retain certain information for recordkeeping purposes, and there may also be residual information that will remain within our databases and other records, which will not be removed therefrom. Finally, we are not responsible for updating information in the databases of third parties with whom we have already shared your personal information.
Note Regarding the Use of the Site by Children
This Site is not intended for persons under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from or about children, and we do not knowingly market our products or services to children.
Jurisdictional Issues.
The Site is controlled and operated by ARAMARK from the United States, and is not intended to subject ARAMARK or any our affiliates to the laws or jurisdiction of any state, country or territory other than that of the United States. ARAMARK does not represent or warrant that the Site, or any part thereof, is appropriate or available for use in any particular jurisdiction. Those who choose to access the Site do so on their own initiative and at their own risk, and are responsible for complying with all local laws, rules and regulations. We may limit the Site's availability, in whole or in part, to any person, geographic area or jurisdiction we choose, at any time and in our sole discretion.
